Nice NKA3 Control Board — Slight 400 Garage Door Motor Replacement Control Unit

Nice NKA3 is the original electronic control board manufactured for the Slight 400 series garage door motors. This board handles all logical operations of the motor, managing the door open/close cycle, soft-start and soft-stop functions, and safety sensor integration within a single unit. The board is powered by 230V AC / 50-60 Hz mains voltage and processes remote control signals via a receiver circuit operating at 433.92 MHz. Thanks to its photocell inputs and safety edge connection terminals, it meets the safety requirements covered under EN 13241. With an IP44 protection rating, the board is resistant to moisture and dust, and operates continuously across a wide temperature range of -20°C to +55°C. Board failure typically manifests as the motor not responding to commands, the door stopping midway, or safety violation alarms being triggered — in such cases, the board must be replaced.

Replacing the Nice NKA3 control board is rated as INTERMEDIATE difficulty. Since the cable connections on the board are labeled and made via standard terminal blocks, it is possible to photograph the existing wiring layout and replicate it exactly on the new board; however, care must be taken to ensure peripheral connections such as photocells, safety edges, and the remote control receiver are placed on the correct terminals. The mains power must be completely disconnected during the process.
