BFT Michelangelo BM Control Board – BTA 60/80 Barrier System Replacement Control Unit

The BFT Michelangelo BM control board is a fully equipped electronic management unit manufactured for BFT Michelangelo BTA 60 and BTA 80 series barrier motors. Powered by a 230V AC mains supply, the board directly controls the 24V DC motor that moves the barrier arm, providing a safe and precise drive profile over the low-voltage motor line. The board features an integrated D-Track obstacle detection and torque monitoring circuit, which protects the motor and prevents mechanical damage by immediately shutting it down upon detecting abnormal resistance during arm movement. An intuitive menu interface with an LCD display is provided for programming; automatic closing time, soft-start/soft-stop, step-by-step operating mode and adjustable waiting times can all be easily configured through this menu. Supporting photocell, loop detector, safety edge, stop and start inputs, as well as flasher, traffic light and electromechanical lock outputs, the board can be reliably used inside a control cabinet with its IP54 protection rating, and operates stably in both cold storage entrances and open-air car park environments thanks to its operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. Replacing this part is required in cases such as control board failure, barrier unresponsiveness, incorrect closing behaviour or non-functional safety circuits.

Replacing this control board is of MEDIUM difficulty. Although the cable connectors on the board are secured with standard faston or screw terminal connections, it is necessary to photograph the existing cable wiring diagram and note the DIP switch or trimpot positions before replacement, and to reprogram parameters such as D-Track sensitivity and automatic closing time via the LCD menu after fitting the new board. For this reason, it is recommended that the replacement be carried out by an authorised technician with basic knowledge of barrier systems; otherwise, incorrect parameter settings may cause the barrier's safety circuits to lose functionality.
